We’re not experts, we’re addicts. It’s that simple. I stayed up until 5am one night in February finalizing my postseason running back depth chart. Eddie did 16 mock drafts in one night, on a Tuesday. We get to the sports bar (The Upper Deck in Cary, NC) as early as 11am so we can get a good seat. It’s one block from a strip club, and in six years we’ve never gone one time. What? Miss the late game? The gambling is a rush and the bragging rights are amazingly satisfying. Fantasy Football has changed the way we watch the NFL, and has given us a deeper understanding and appreciation for the way the game is played.

There’s no such thing as a Fantasy Football expert. There may be some folks in Bristol with an inside track or insights beyond us mere mortals, but it’s their job to report any information they receive as quickly as possible. As soon as Chris Mortensen knows something, every Fantasy Football addict in the world has as much access to the information as any “expert” working. Don’t get me wrong, the experts are a great tool. They come up with all kinds of nifty stats to sort through that have real value, and provide intricate systems to track players and trends. The information is great, but Jesus playing Madden in heaven, I’m tired of being fed opinion as fact.

Our goal is to create a forum for people who are obsessed with Fantasy Football. We’ll get things rolling by dropping our own observations and experiences, but we need a lot more for this to really fly. The more people who interact, the more information and experience is added to the pot. I’d rather have all the evidence laid out in front of me and make a decision for myself, than blindly follow some cheat sheet that 11 million other jokers are toting to their draft.

At the very least, this is a place where you can run your mouth about something you love. Fantasy Football is a hell of a drug, and we’re all addicts.
